Applications must include:

• Applicant information
• Site description and history
• Assessment activity and background
• Property reuse and redevelopment
• Supporting documentation, such as regional and site location maps, photographs, prior site assessment reports, historical environmental information, and petroleum eligibility determinations

Match Notes:

There are no stated matching requirements for this program. Award recipients will receive targeted brownfields assessments (TBAs) at no cost.

Funding Notes:

Rather than providing monetary awards, this program provides free targeted brownfield assessments (TBAs), which are environmental investigations that document environmental conditions at properties under consideration for redevelopment or reuse.

TBA deliverables will take one to six or more months to complete based on project complexity and overall workload.

In general, this program will not support work on the following types of properties:

• Properties where the applicant is responsible or potentially responsible for the contamination
• Properties listed, or proposed for listing, under the Superfund National Priorities List
• Facilities subject to the funding agency's unilateral administrative orders, court orders, administrative orders on consent, or judicial consent decrees issued to, or entered into, by parties under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)
• Facilities that are subject to the jurisdiction, custody, or control of the U.S. government

Some ineligible properties may be eligible with a property-specific determination.
