Summary:
The purpose of this program is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service projects on a short-term basis. Rather than providing monetary awards, this program places a full-time team of 6 to 12 Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) members and one team leader to serve with sponsoring organizations to help meet a critical community need that would not be fully addressed without additional assistance.
NCCC members represent a wide variety of socioeconomic, cultural, geographic, and educational backgrounds, and will complete projects in the following focus areas:
- Natural and other disasters: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation projects that address the needs of communities affected by floods, hurricanes, wildfires, and other disasters; examples of eligible service activities include:
- Supporting disaster recovery centers, shelters, and facilities
- Preparing and distributing meals or water
- Mucking and gutting storm-damaged homes and buildings
- Debris removal
- Roof tarping
- Infrastructure improvement: projects that address the needs of communities by contributing to the safety and well-being of community citizens through the repair and building of public structures; examples of eligible service activities include:
- Building and repairing wheelchair ramps, boardwalks, and footbridges
- Assembling playgrounds
- Repairing and painting public facilities
- Renovating museums, historical buildings, and cemeteries
- Restoring and refurbishing picnic areas and campsites
- Environmental stewardship and conservation: projects that address the needs of communities by helping them maintain and protect their natural resources; examples of eligible service activities include:
- Trail building and maintenance
- Planting trees
- Removing invasive plant species
- Cleaning up rivers, streams, and wetlands
- Addressing climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience
- Facilitating environmental education workshops and camps for youth
- Energy conservation: projects that address the needs of communities by helping citizens to more effectively and efficiently utilize their local resources; examples of eligible service activities include:
- Conducting energy efficiency assessments
- Assisting with installations of energy-efficient modifications to homes, businesses, and public facilities
- Developing and improving recycling programs
- Performing home weatherization projects
- Facilitating educational programming on energy sustainability and conservation practices
- Urban and rural development: projects that address the needs of communities in ways that improve the quality of life for citizens; examples of eligible service activities include:
- Supporting homeless shelters, food banks, and youth and family service organizations
- Renovating and constructing homes for those in need
- Leading neighborhood and community revitalization projects
- Community and school gardens and summer feeding programs
- Assisting students, parents, and families through tutoring and after-school programming

- September 19, 2025, with the option to submit an early review application by September 5, 2025
- November 21, 2025, with the option to submit an early review application by November 3, 2025

If selected as a sponsoring organization, applicants will be required to provide NCCC members with the following:
- On-site technical oversight and direction with the team each day
- At least 40 hours of enriching service per week, per member
- Project supplies, equipment, materials, and any necessary building permits
- Schedule of work plan
- Schedule of training/orientation plan
- Lodging with showers
- Cooking facilities, unless meals are provided
- Service-learning support and opportunities to understand community impact
- Inclement-weather work plan
Funding Notes:
Rather than providing monetary awards, this program places a full-time team of 6 to 12 NCCC members and one team leader to serve with sponsoring organizations. In addition, this program will provide sponsoring organizations with:
- One 15-passenger van and fuel
- Funds for food and laundry
- Federal Tort Claims Act and Federal Employees Coverage Act insurance
Award notification dates will vary according to application deadline, as follows:
- July 14, 2025, for applications submitted by June 27, 2025
- October 20, 2025, for applications submitted by September 19, 2025
- January 20, 2026, for applications submitted by November 21, 2025
Projects will typically last 3 to 13 weeks, but will vary depending on the specific requirements of each project. Available service dates will vary according to application deadline, as follows:
- September 16, 2025, to December 14, 2025, for applications submitted by June 27, 2025
- January 7, 2026, to March 15, 2026, for applications submitted by September 19, 2025
- March 19, 2025, to May 31, 2026, for applications submitted by November 21, 2025
Available service dates are subject to change and include a team's travel time to or from the project. The funding agency will prioritize applications that span a full round and offer a range of service experiences to the team.
Project sponsors may receive NCCC resources for up to 60 weeks. Exceptions may be granted for strategic, mission-critical projects and disaster response and recovery projects.
